James "Jimmy V" Valdez is an accomplished, bassist who hails from Oxnard, California via Indianapolis, Indiana. Valdez states that he “loves” the Blues and “rockin’ Big Hair Bands” and cites his influences as John Entwhistle, Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Buddy Guy; John Paul Jones and of course Jaco and Victor.. Toured internationally with the Kelly Richey Band from 2005-2012, a power-trio Blues/Rock band fronted by Blues guitar master Kelly Richey, Prior to that he toured in the midwest region with Indianapolis Blues favorite Governor Davis and The Blues Ambassadors from 1996 to 2005. He has also performed with bluesmen like Duke Tumatoe and the late great Pinetop Perkins, singer/song writer Rich Hardesty, and one of Indiana's premier rock bands Sweet FA. A consumate professional, Jimmy V remains a "first call" bassist for all genres of music.
As of April 2015 most of Jimmy V's time is now team driving a T660 Kenworth semi-truck and trailer all over the U.S. with wife Deanna and dog Pooh. When in town, you can catch him playing bass once or twice a month with one of Indianpolis' premier Classic Rock cover bands: "CRAMBONE"
